As the International Customs Day was observed on January 26 in Samdrupjongkhar, themed SMART (Secure, Measurable, Automated and risk management based and technology driven) boarders for seamless, trade and transport.The day was attended by the Finance Minister, Business Communities, stakeholders and RRCO officials. The event then not just marked day-long celebration, it was also a day for recognition of highest PIT payer and top ten BIT and CIT payers in the country to acknowledge their compliance over the last five years and active participation in the socio-economic development in the country. Alike other CIT and BIT payers, the SD Eastern Bhutan Ferro Silicon’s Chairman, SonamDukpa, was recognized as the top PIT payer in the country with tax amount paid Nu.21.35M for the income year 2017. In addition to the certificate, he also received a duty free access card.
